I have spent a life involved in the arts in one way or another and have gone back to printmaking after many years.

I discovered the magic of relief printing early on and from that moment found the whole process fascinating. Today it still feels the same.: it is a wonderful and exciting medium to work in, –

For me, there is something about its immediate relationship to a very old process that in essence hasn’t changed.  It is a sort of earthy, raw process that still demands an exactitude and certainty in approach and purpose to achieve that level of meaning and drama inherent to the medium.

I am interested in exploring the nature of the dramatic experience afforded in the juxtaposition of black and white in the monochrome print.  I see the uncertain nature of the human condition, where we, as societal animals, depending for survival on our ability to interrelate, yet, ironicly, suffer from deep inner isolation.

Strong design elements offered by the process are also an aspect to explore and to develop while the sinuous lines and forms in the natural world are an everlasting resource.
